So almost a month ago we made this post. Well, the contest is over with and we had a great number of comments (30 to be exact) and have finally chosen a winner. Let’s go through how we randomly selected a winner.

VidBulge is back up. Yes. We took your comments into steep consideration and put some more money into the hosting to get 2 Terabytes worth of bandwidth and over 200 Gigabytes of disk space. With that in mind we have rolled over and have made the server upgrade cost back in just under 24 hours times :).

We have dove into yet another venture, this time being forums. A couple of days ago, we began working on Voshy - Entertainment Forums.
Went ahead and purchased vBulletin and so far, I have been blown away with the features and speed. Great investment for anyone out there that wants to start a forum.
So what’s the forum about?
Entertainment in general. Covering everything from Movies, Television, Music, Celebrity News & Gossip, an Off-Topic rant & rave section and a Sex & Relationship section.

We want to ask our reader’s what they would like to see in such a forum. It could be anything that comes to mind, we are very open to constructive criticism and suggestions.
Well I have to say that for our first month, VidBulge did outstanding. So outstanding that we exceeded our 1,000GB bandwidth limit! That’s right, 1,000GB was transferred since we began. We did some tweaks, promoted it a little bit by uploading and sharing some files ourselves and spread the word around.
Now we need to figure out whether or not we should upgrade servers :-P. As far as how much we made? Quite a bit for just starting out, I was fairly surprised with how quick it caught on. We netted just above $100 for about 23 days (solely from AdSense). I’m sure with some more promotion and maybe a couple of sponsored links we could do even better.
Until then, you can’t even view it so there’s no point in me showing it but we’ll be back up by the start of September. Thank’s goes out to everyone who has used the service!
I’ve been working at Recruiting Firm in Manhattan for over a year and a half now and I finally decided to give my two weeks notice last week. Why? I found a new a job, no simpler answer then that. Moving on to greener pastures.
I started looking for a job about two-three months ago when I realized that I was getting severely underpaid for my work (PHP/MySQL Developer with some AJAX and HTML/CSS thrown in). I got a call from a recruiting company that found my resume via Dice and they offered me a position. I told them no because I didn’t like the hourly wage they were offering me ($20 an hour) and because I really didn’t think I would get the job anyway, so I told them I’d go for $25 an hour or nothing at all (I had nothing to lose at the time).

So I happened to stumble across this great website via some forums that I browse and I was thoroughly impressed to say the least. You Cubez is an advertising site that let’s people purchase colorful cubez to have a link to their website.
Basically the more you pay, the higher you are up to the top. It’s a brilliant idea that reminds of me of the Million Dollar Homepage except with a cooler spin to it. You can grab a cube for as little as $1 a year (the most expensive cube is $100). For so little, that’s a great value. I however would recommend spending a little bit more to get on the front page ($5-$10) because the front page has a PageRank of 1 and a great Alexa ranking as well.
I think this is a great idea. Honestly, you can either start a website like this with a creative way for people to buy links and get traffic, or you can buy a link space and get more traffic to your own site! It’s basically a win-win.
Hopefully soon, CashBulge will be grabbing a Cube as well. Let me know what you guys think about this idea! Note: $ should actually represent Euros as this is a European currency exchange.
DealScans is a intuitive site that reminds me bleakly off SlickDeals. However the main thing that sets it apart (for the better) in my opinion is the voting system. It’s kinda like Digg and Froogle rolled into one comprehensive resource for getting the cheapest deals when buying stuff online.
I’m loving the Web 2.0 that’s sweeping the nation. It’s making my life more manageable. While I usually stick to just NewEgg, this site has definitely been bookmarked for future purchases.
Be sure to register an account if you want to vote for the best deals and all that jazz. Definitely give it a look around.
So we decided to re-release the forums. The problem was that we were running on SMF forum software before and it wasn’t working out too well. It was slow and buggy. Decided to roll-over to the more popular phpBB forum software. Our goal is to eventually upgrade to vBulletin somewhere in the near future so be ready :-).
Feel free to register/join the forums and start posting. It will take awhile to get steady activity but we’ll keep working towards that.
We have also installed the Quick Reply mod for faster posting as well as Instant Redirect mod so that when you reply, there is no wait, you’re taken directly back to what you replied.
The forums are also advertisement free (for now) so you won’t have any annoying pop-ups or any advertisements at all for that matter to worry about. Let us know what you think!
Finally, I installed a plug-in that allows the CashBulge feed to be the full article instead of cutting off at the ‘more’ tag. Now you can check out the whole article without actually having to visit our website ;-).
