Cheap Dates - Taking a trip down memory lane with your significant other
I’m no love doctor, but I think knowing about your significant other’s past is a very important part of having a relationship. Knowing someones’ past will help you better identify with their thoughts, needs, and the way they act. So here’s a little day date, that is not only cheap but will bring you closer to your special someone and hopefully help you to form a better relationship.
In order to get closer and get in touch with your mate’s past, on this fun date, take a drive or walk through you and your partner’s childhood neighborhoods and share a picnic type meal, at a local park or maybe even by or at your old house if your able to. Share stories about your childhood and past, in order to entertain each other. This can provide hours of interesting conversation as well as form a bond between you and your partner.
Let’s take a look at the costs of this date:
Cost
Well, gas is pretty expensive these days, so if you live far away from where you or your mate grew up this could be a little bit of an expensive day but let’s say you don’t live too far, like about 25 miles at the most.
At the most gas for the day will cost you $40-$45 depending on what type of car you drive, that’s playing it on the safe side. On average I think it will cost about $25. It just depends on how far you plan on driving.
Tip: To cut down on the gas prices, try to walk around your neighborhood instead of driving when you arrive, this will not only save you money but also allow you to share stories more easily with your special friend about yourself and vice versa.
As far as food goes, this is up to you, you can bring from home and have a picnic or you can stop in your favorite childhood lunch spot if it is still around. The max this should cost you is about $20. Always bring from home in order to save money. If it is a nice day enjoy a picnic at a local park
What you get out of the date.
Well, you get what you put in. When you arrive at your destinations it’s up to you and your significant other to make the date work. This date isn’t about being romantic, it is about learning more about one another and enjoying your time together. So make the most out of this date and learn as much as you can about your significant other and also let your significant other into your past as well.
Overall
I think this date is a great idea and a good opportunity to get to know your mate better especially if you are just starting a relationship. The date is also fairly cheap depending on how far you drive, I would say it could range from $35-$60, but for a full day of companionship and interesting conversations, it is well worth it.
So this weekend take a drive down memory lane with your significant other, it will strengthen your relationship as well as your wallet ![]()
