Is Time More Valuable Than Money?

timemoney2.jpg “Waste money, but never time, money comes back to you, but minutes are hard to find.”

With our hectic schedules between our business and personal lives, there becomes a blur between what’s more important, our time or our money.

Because of the emphasis of the importance of money in the capitalistic society, I think we sometimes fail to realize the value of time.

Although we work to support ourselves, our spouse, or our family financially, which are all admirable causes, we also need to know that these people also value our time as well not just our money.

I am not only talking about putting a value on our time at work, or the time we spend commuting; I am talking about our time on this earth. When you think about it, time is a precious commodity that is constantly passing by.

Sometimes we get so caught up with working and making money, that when we aren’t working, we waste time being lazy because we never get the chance to. This is time though, that we could spend doing other activities that we actually enjoy.

I think we need to realize that time is so important because there is only so much of it, and it is often taken for granted. Sorry this sounds somewhat apocalyptic, I just have been going through some realizations concerning my grandparent’s health that have put a lot of things in perspective. Especially since I have been focusing on personal development lately.

Anyway,I think we need to realize that our friends, family, and significant others all value our time. Knowing this, we need to use the time we are not working, to share it with them, the people who value it. Although you may not realize it our time is valued elsewhere, other then work.

So do I think money and a career is important? Most definitely! Or else I wouldn’t be working a full time job and working on this blog. But do I also realize that time is valuable, and the importance in the way you spend it? Yes, and that’s why I am working on both enjoying my youth as well as securing my future financially.

Remember money does help a ton, but it isn’t everything. That’s why here at Cashbulge we try to spread some knowledge to help you manage your financial life more easily, so you can also enjoy yourself a bit.

What do you think? Do you think time is undervalued in today’s society? Or do you think money is the be all end all? How do you balance your work and your family time? Leave a comment. Time is not undervalued. I think that most people have a good sense that there is never enough of it and ‘try’ to act accordingly. The truth is that most just worry to much about their daily task lists and not designing their futures.

Spend your time wisely and effectively to get the most out of the work you do. So what if you can’t get 8 hours of sleep every night. Get pumped that you are building a foundation that will profit you down the road.
