BloggingFingers - a Full Fledged Review

BloggingFingers is a new blog that just splashed into the massive ocean that is the blogosphere. What can I say so far? I can say that I am thoroughly impressed with this new site. The tagline is Blogging ideas, tips, creativity and money making strategies for Blogs. That’s basically a huge niche in one nicely packed umbrella.
However, enough of me rambling, let’s get on to the nitty gritty.
First impressions.
First impressions are everything. My first impression of the site was that it is clean and minimalistic, something that I love. It’s easy to find out where everything is at just a quick glance and the content is spearheaded right to the top of the page which is great.
The other thing that struck me was the banner. It’s definitely large and in charge, covering the width of the page. It could however use some work, it seems to ’stick’ out a bit too much for my liking. Other then that, the first impressions are great! My eyes floated directly towards the headlines and thats exactly what should be happening.
The things I liked.
Let’s go over where this site shines. The first thing that etches out at me is the content. It’s written with intelligence, charisma and proper formatting (my pet peeve). Not only is it informational, its personal which makes it easier and more likable to read. The other thing that is great that I advocate is that the posts are clean and easily scannable.
There aren’t any annoying ads in between posts and the sidebar is clean. The design flows, its the same across all the pages and it works. The site definitely has a professional feel.
While the site has professionalism, it also is down-to-earth through the content which sets it apart from a lot of ‘cookie-cutter’ blogs.
Things that could use improvement.
A couple of gripes that could be enhanced would make this site stellar. These are minor because I couldn’t really find any glaring weaknesses or errors (which is a great thing).
1. Favicon. Right now, I’m pretty sure its a default, if it was unique, it would look better in my favorites folder and allow me to find the site easier. (You can contact me to help with this).
2. Rightmost sidebar is a bit empty compared to the middle bar. Fill some ad-space in there!
3. The logo. Could use some work to smoothen it out and work better with the rest of the site.
Conclusion & final thoughts.
I thoroughly enjoyed the site and will be coming back for more articles. The pace is good and the content is easy to read, that’s basically all it takes to keep my interest.

Wow Leonid thanks for the great review! I had no idea you really thought Blogging Fingers was that good! Your coffees are on their way!
I’d gone and completely forgotten about the favicon, thanks for the reminder. As for the right sidebar, I left it nearly empty because I wanted to focus on building subscriber numbers, but point taken, it looks a bit naked. Logo/header wise, yep again you’re right there, it needs tweaking.
Thanks again for the great review! That really did make my day ϑ

No problem. A great site deserves recognition. Now I’m all hyped up on caffeine thanks to you ;). Let me know if you need graphic design services (for the logo), I could do it for you at basically no price :).
Cheers.

[…] CashBulge writes a spankingly good review of Blogging Fingers. It has some useful pointers and ideas for me to put into practice as well as far too much praise, which I am forbidding entry into my head. […]
