For the love or the money?
A common question has been running through my mind as I move forward in life and make choices that will affect my career.
As people live day in and day out, they must make many decisions obviously. But the one that has popped up often recently in my life, is whether I should pursue things for money or for the love of it.
Should I be happy? Or should I swallow my desires and sacrifice so I could be better off financially? This situation not only has come up with me when blogging (ie. write about a topic that I enjoy or write about something that will make me money), but it has also come up with decisions about my schooling and choosing a career path. Here are some of my thoughts about love vs. money.
Here at CashBulge we love to show people how to make money as well as make some ourselves. But what should blogging be about? Exploring topics that you enjoy or exploring topics that will be the most profitable? It would be great if it could be both. But can it? Some times it is hard the time to figure out the best way to do this.
For Bloggers, Regarding Love or Money
My best suggestion from a blogging standpoint is to actually maybe start two blogs. One that will be profitable and one you can enjoy more. Work hard at making your one blog profitable, and when you want to relax, write for your other blog since you already enjoy the topic. Make it a more down to earth blog with smaller articles, and give your readers a real sense of personableness(not a real word). This will make your blogging experience more enjoyable and less burdened by the nagging financial requirements of your other blog.
As you do this, you will become more comfortable with blogging and see what works for you and what makes you happy. The problem with the capitalistic society we live in is that money makes us happy because it gives us more freedom to do the things we love and not have to worry about paying the bills. That’s why we are trying to show you how to make money easier through different tools online, mainly blogging.
So yes Blogging and writing about popular topics that will make you money, is definitely a great thing to do especially if you have alot of time and are willing to make the sacrifice, but I definitely think it is important to pursue and write about something that you enjoy, which would be much less tedious and could even potentially bring you profits, if you go about it the right way.
For Life, Regarding Love or Money
I know this is supposed to be a blog about making money but I have also touched on personal development. An love and money are huge when it comes to personal development. As I make choices financially, with my time, and my career I am constantly thinking to myself, is this what I really want to do? And I guess as you get older, and you try to find “your way” this idea pops into you head more often.
I am young, but I think like a man in a middle age crisis haha. I have been trying to move away from this. I think when you are young you are willing to make the sacrifices of happiness because you think you have so much time in your future to have fun. But I disagree with this. Now is always the time to have fun, be inventive, and pursue something you want rather then something you need. Yes, making money is one of my favorite things and I need it, but I also have other interests that I think I need to pay more attention too in order to be happy. And I think a lot of people have to start doing that. I just started working on it and it has been great so far. This Blog is one of my new ventures that I enjoy.
My Opinion
So overall, I do think it is very important to make money, and yes I enjoy doing it. But I think we also need to take some down time and explore the things that we love as well. Sacrifice is a must in almost every situation because of the capitalistic society but, I don’t think one should take it to the extreme of not enjoying what they are doing, unless they are making tons of money.
Start out by trying new ventures, be creative, start small, and see where that takes you. Work on something you love at least a little each day. Who knows you may be able to turn a huge profit from actually doing something you love to do.
Do you have any suggestions or experiences where you worked on a project for the money rather the the love? Do you think it is worth it? What do you think is more important? Leave a comment! Also, go to the forums, I posted a thread with a poll. So get to the forums and spread some knowledge.

I like the way you think. Do what you love, and you’ll make money at it. Blogging, painting, construction, whatever. If you do something you love, and you do it well, you will be successful as a matter of course.

interesting post which looks in depth at life.
I might be too young to say this, but I doubt one can really make a lot of money if one doesn’t love what he’s doing. In an ideal world, I believe many, if not all people want to make tons of money by doing the things they love.

you’re having a quarter life crisis, its okay.
Ideally, you should be happy doing both… Love your Job. But this takes time… you have to discover yourself and what you love. Be patient, work hard, and things will fall in place!

This choice faces a lot of people today, and I’ve also come across thoughts like these at several times in my life. IMO, the choices depend entirely on your state when the decision was made. If you are going through problems at any time of your life, it is more likely you will end up making decisions which will be for money, rather than for love, especially if it involves a financial problem. But if you are financially stable and have nothing to worry about, it is most likely that the decisions made will be for love and ‘fun’ rather than for any monetary goal.
