Sitting around and devouring some coffee when something important hits. When I started my first two blogs, they went down in flames. After that, I decided to make a check-list for anything new I started that I knew would be key in my blogs success and I have used it ever since. Now, it’s time to share the knowledge.

I guess you can call this a guide and a checklist. Hopefully this will aid some of you when starting out a blog aimed at a different niches. Let’s get to the list.

Design

• Simple
• Easy to read
• Color scheme (5 colors max)
• Font size
• Browser compliant
• Organization

Structure

• Descriptive permalinks
• Organized archives
• Coherent menu system
• Search
• RSS Feed

Content

• Post at least 2-3 times weekly
• Be original
• Be yourself
• Set goals
